Mount Pleasant Optimist Bursary
The Mount Pleasant Optimist Club created a student Bursary in 2016 to support youth who are committed to continuing their education.
Bursary Application
ELIGIBILITY
1. Be a permanent resident of Mount Pleasant, ON, Canada, N0E 1K0, and live within the Mount Pleasant Public School Attendance Boundary, as identified by the Grand Erie School Board. Please submit proof of address with the application.
2. Be registered in Grade 8 or Grade 12 during the school year and for those in grade 12, accepted admission, as a full time student, at a recognized post-secondary institution.
3. Demonstrate high ideals and qualities of citizenship.
4. Complete a minimum of 20 volunteer hours for those in grade 8 or a minimum of 55 volunteer hours for those in grade 12. It is the expectation that at minimum 25% of the required hours be completed within Mount Pleasant.
5. Complete and submit a project, using a medium of your choice, as outlined below.
6. Submit a letter of reference from a supervisor of your volunteer experience, regarding the activities conducted during this experience, your conduct and performance.
7. Submit a letter of reference from a current school teacher, regarding your conduct and performance at school.
8. Submit a photocopy of most recent report card or school transcripts.
9. MAIL this completed application form, project and all other requested information to the MOUNT PLEASANT OPTIMIST CLUB, PO Box 101, 711 Mount Pleasant Road, Mount Pleasant, ON, N0E 1K0 on or before May 1, of your Grade 8 or Grade 12 year.
